iCloud Drive data is not downloading back to my Mac. What can I do?

I recently formatted my Mac and when I resigned to my icloud account the data in my iCloud Drive did not download back to my Mac. Everything else (Notes, photos, etc.) is now accessible from my computer though.

I have confirmed iCloud Drive data is still in the cloud but it just does not download back to my computer even after I activate "Desktop & Documents folders" option in the iCloud Drive sync options. What can I do?

Open finder > click on iCloud Drive > you will see documents ( they will appear after hours as it depends upon the data that was saved in iCloud Drive , network speed is also the factor to download all of them , click on download icon in front of them ( if the documents are created with Microsoft office , a pie chart will rotate and fill up.

It will take more than hour or two the documents will be shown in the finder , as syncing is slow process and for the time being don't open other applications or browse as they will consume network speed .

In a condition before erasing the hard drive you must have set up / turned on iCloud Drive and if you click on option button the desktops and documents must have been checked .
