i'm trying to open a package from Anthem Audio that contains the Anthem Room Correction software. When I go to open the package it tell me: "can’t be opened because Apple cannot check it for malicious software." I've checked in System Preferences but can't figure it out. Any help is appreciated.

At the time of writing, you can get round this by deleting the quarantine extended attribute on the application.
xattr -d com.apple.quarantine /path/to/file

No I didn't. I found an app, Pacifist, and it worked great. Thanks
If you drag it to your /Applications folder, then right-click and press 'Open', a pop-up will appear, click 'open' again.
That worked for me when downloading an app that had this issue.
Are you running Catalina? That's the only time I've seen that exact message.
I'm on Mojave 10.14.5. I was trying to open an Anthem app for ARC calibration on my MRX 720.
