split fusion drive

Hi.

Some how I split the fusion drive with my iMac 2017 model. The process of merging the two separate drives is tedious and time consuming. What I would like to know.

Are there any advantages to having a split fusion drive? For instance, could start up and run my iMac from the SSD while working with applications installed on my HD?

iMac 27" (Late 2015) Fusion Drive to SSD Hello everybody, I am planning on upgrading my fusion drive to an ssd, since it gets often very very slow. My questions are: Shall I update the optical drive or the ssd (blade) ? Is there a forum post you recommend to follow for splitting the drives ? How many inches is the optical drive ?
