Contacts not recognized in caller ID

Since the iOS 12.3.1 update my 6+ no longer recognizes my contacts in my caller ID. Instead just the phone number shows.

My husband’s phone is not having this issue. The only difference I can find is that his contacts are formatted (123) 123-4567 where mine are 1231234567.

Apple support said I would have to manually correct the formatting.

I tried going into my contacts to manually format them, but there’s no option for me to add ( ) or - to the numbers. I’ve also tried changing my region/language in settings and changing it back but it hasn’t fixed the problem.

Any suggestions?

iPhone 6 Plus, iOS 12

Try going to settings>general>reset>and reset all settings. (this does not delete data)
