Mail/Gmail

All of a sudden, my mail is showing an error message saying identity of “imap.gmail.com” cannot be verified by mail. I have a gmail account, but when i go to details, it says “imap.mail.yahoo.com” not trusted. I don’t have a yahoo account.

IMAP email account error trying to set up a new imap email account but get the following error message: Unable to verify account name or password Called IONOS and they asked me to open their webmail website and log in, which I successfully did, so email address and password are correct and working. The told me to CONTACT Apple as this would be an Apple problem..... what do I do now?

Delete and reinstall the gmail account, if that doesn't work contact gmail or look at their support site.
