MacBook Air TouchPad Not Working

Lately, I have been finding that the touchpad is unresponsive and doesn’t click. The touch pad doesn’t have a problem. It will double click but it won’t single tap. I have been restarting the computer but it doesn’t work.Someone Help.

Hi yoonsoo258,

Thanks for using Apple Support Communities. It sounds like you’re having trouble with the trackpad on your MacBook Air. I’m happy to help. To start, I suggest trying the steps below:

If your Apple wireless mouse, keyboard, or trackpad isn't working as expected - Apple Support

If your pointer is jumpy when you use a trackpad, Magic Trackpad, or Magic Mouse - Apple Support

While the titles may not seem to pertain to your issue, the steps still apply. If that doesn’t help, I suggest resetting the SMC:

How to reset the System Management Controller (SMC) on your Mac - Apple Support

Best Regards.
