Search in Apple Books extremely slow on pdfs, even those with embedded indexes

I have multiple 800+ page pdf documents I would like to search in Apple Books (iBooks) on my iPhone10. For some of the pdfs, search works fast, and for others it's extremely slow. For the slow documents I added embedded indexes using Adobe Acrobat Pro which is supposed to help, but it didn't at all. Please let me know if there is something else I must do to the pdfs to enable faster searching in Apple Books.

Need a fix for “no results” after searching Files App My Files App (the one by Apple) shows Adobe Acrobat as a location I can access through the Files App. Yet when I run a search through the Files App for documents I know are in Acrobat, it returns “no results”. I have made sure Acrobat (just and example, happens to other apps too) is active under Siri & Search in Settings, but it made no difference. How do I get Files to search more thoroughly and return results? I don’t see how it can be useful with this function missing. TIA Francois

PAGES Search How can I search for a PAGES document without searching through every document. Let me explain. When I open Pages I can go to file and see Open Recent but if I want to search for another article in PAGES I am sent to documents. Is there a way to search for ONLY PAGES documents?

Search function in Google Drive I have been using an iPad Pro to access files saved to Google Drive for 2 or 3 years without problem. The problem is that I’m now losing the search bar while searching a PDF document. I can access the search function with the icon at the top right, which brings up the keyboard without problem, and I can start typing the word or phrase search. As soon as I hit return, the document automatically scrolls to the first instance of the search, but the search bar and advancing arrows recede out of the display area and are inaccessible. The search function is operating because I can scroll down through the document using the right side scroll feature and all instances of the word or phrase are highlighted. If I scroll back to the top of the document, the search bar drops back down into view, but then it disappears again as I start to advance the search. I suspect I have some feature turned off but cannot locate anything.
