Changing Apple ID and Reset Phone
I can't login to my phone after multiple attempts. States my password is wrong. Can I completely erase my phone and use the new ID- gmail I just created? Or will my phone deny it as well?

Until you sign out of the current ID, the phone will stay locked to that ID even if you erase it.
Enter the Apple (iCloud) ID and click Forgot Password.
