Iphone XS Max Email notifications

Hello All,

I am having some issues with my new Iphone XS Max. I use my phone for company business and have very high priority emails that come into my Mail inbox. I am not getting any notification that i have received an email with the basic app. i have gone through numerous forums and have not been able to resolve this. i have tried the following.

Making sure all notifications settings are set to be visible as well as vibrate and make a sound.

Soft reset.

Erase all settings.

I would hope i wouldnt have to wipe my whole phone and start again as my last phone(iphone 8 plus) was upgraded to 12.3.2 and was not compatible with this phone(12.3.1 is the highest version you can get on the XS Max.

Please help!!
