ACTIVATION LOCK

My uncle bought my wife an iPhone 6 in 2014/2015, she used this phone for almost 5 years, we created an iCloud account but sadly we didn't write the password or ID and now I erased the phone and it is asking me for this info...Apple told me that either I remember or show them the purchase receipt somehow, but I don't remember nor I was able to get the purchase invoice
