Apple Event: May 7th at 7 am PT
A friend gave me her old iphone 5S, it has an activation lock on it and unfortunately she doesnt remember her old iCloud details as when she got a new iPhone she created a new iCloud account. Apple needs proof of purchase, she doesnt have the original receipt. What can i do as proof of purchase, can she write an email or write up a receipt? Please help.
Apple requires a copy of the original proof of purchase with the serial number on it. They will not accept any other type of receipt. If she can't provide the original proof of purchase, the phone is worthless.
See if she can recover the ID/password.

Enter the Apple (iCloud) ID and click Forgot Password.
