The reason at least iCloud is not keeping my free 5GB too
they are saying not enough storage but there is 5 GB
they stored only 3 MB
I bought a XS max, but I can’t even get my contacts too on that

Hello, you can go to iCloud.com and delete all of the extra backups that are stored there and it should free up more space. Deleting unwanted photos from iCloud.com will also help free up space. Make sure you empty the recently deleted folders though. You should use caution though, anything you delete cannot be retrieved.
