iTunes won't let me update

I'm running Windows 10 most current update according to Microsoft, yet the iTunes store message says I must update to the latest version, to be able to make purchases. What should I do?

Windows, Windows 10

iTunes is likely to be out of date. You need iTunes 12.6.5.3 or 12.7.2.58 or better to be able to work with the iTunes Store due to changes in encryption requirements brought in by the payments industry. See About App Store and iTunes Store availability - Apple Support for background. Visit https://www.apple.com/itunes/download/ to download the current version of iTunes. See Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows Update - Apple Community if you have any trouble updating. Direct links to the most recent build are at the very bottom of the user tip.
