Often I have Numbers spreadsheet which were created on a MacBook. I'd like to move them to an iPad. They have confidential information so I don't want them to reside on iCloud. How do I move a copy from the laptop to the iPad and then have it reside on the iPad and not be resident in iCloud?

After you've placed it on your iPad, go to Settings > Your Name Apple ID, iCloud, iTunes & App Store
Tap that.
Tap iCloud
Tap Numbers to turn it off from syncing with iCloud
Sync the file to your iPad from your Mac, then on your iPad turn Pages off for iCloud. The file will reside on your iPad and not be in the cloud.
