Duplicating a project in Logic

Hey Logic Pro users -

I'm mainly a video editor but am mixing a very structured series in Logic Pro X 10.3.2

I'm wanting to keep all of my plug ins in my original project the same for each episode of the series and just move music around slightly/add new voiceover to each episode. I'd prefer each episode to have it's own project folder.

I'm finding the option to "copy" my project - but want to make sure that if I copy my original project folder and then rename it, that any changes I make in the new copy aren't reflected on my original project.

Am I paranoid for no reason? Any help would be appreciated!

Thanks everyone.

Hi sm83890n

If you want to have separate projects without any connection to each other:

  1. Choose File > Save a Copy As.
  2. In the Save As dialog, enter a new name for the project.
  3. Select the type of assets to copy to the project, then click Save.

When you choose Save a Copy as, copies of all your recordings are saved in the project copy. You can also use the Save a Copy As option for archiving and moving data.

For more information about managing project assets, see Manage project assets.

I hope this was helpful and solved your problem.
