MacBookPro Battery Longevity

Ok, so just went for the new MacBookPro and I was wondering if keeping my machine plugged in while at home is a good idea? Because does keeping the computer plugged in count as a charge/discharge cycle or does the power I'm giving it just skip the battery and go straight to the computer after it reaches full charge.

Keep my MacBook Pro plugged in? I just got a MacBook to replace my Mac mini. This means that probably 99.9% of the time it will be plugged in to power and monitor. is it ok to leave a macbook pro plugged in all the time? Is it ok to leave a macbook plugged into a charger pretty much 24/7? Or should I let the battery run down sometimes? Lots of conflicting info online...

You are fine to leave it on the mains.
