2nd Gen Pencil showing signs of cracks

Good day,

My pencil is showing little cracks on either side. I have never dropped or purposely damaged my pencil and therefore sent it in where I had originally purchased it from.

Now the repair center came back to me with a quote for replacement...

I find this unacceptable as they came back to me saying “Please note that the unit’s body is cracked and physical damage voids warranty”.

I then proceeded to ask them to give me an explanation as to how they established that the pencil was damaged? To which I then received a reply stating “Please note that the pencil body is cracked, hence it is deemed as physical damage”.

This is a totally unfair answer as it’s obvious no proper inspection was done and I cannot afford to purchase a new pencil. Please could someone assist me?

Several reports of cracks in Gen2 Pencils have been reported within these Community pages (just search for “Pencil cracks” to find them). If other reports show any signs of consistency with your own experience, you might be able to use these reports to support your argument for waranty replacement from the retailer from whom you made your purchase.

This happened to me aswell with the Apple Pencil 2nd gen. Went to the Apple store today and they can not replace it as the unit’s body is cracked and physical damage which voids warranty”.

there was another option to get another pencil but I had to pay for it which is nearly the cost of a new pencil -_- .

as long as the pencil works just get a cheap silicone case to put around it which will not effect the magnetic charging or a skin wrap.
