Samsung T5 software

I recently updated Samsung Portable SSD software to latest version (1.6.4) on my MacBook Air with macOS 10.14.5 and got this message during the installation:

Now the software does not recognise the SSD with the message "No Samsung Portable SSD is connected". The PortableSSD software was already allowed on "Security & Privacy" from the previous version.

I contacted Samsung Support but the only solution I got is the previous version of the software.

Does anyone else faced the same issue?

Any help is very much appreciated.

Thanks

Solved.

Latest version of SamsungPortable SSD app is incompatible with current version of Mojave.

After short conversation with Samsung Tech Support they sent over instructions on how to completely remove the app and an older version of the app.

Attached instructions.

Hope this helps anyone with same problem

So, my first question is: external drives do not need any software to function. what exactly is this one supposed to do? All an external drive needs is to be formatted correctly for Mac. My recommendation would be to wipe it and start over with an empty drive formatted Mac OS Extended and GUID. Additionally, Apple is slowly building a wall around its system components to ensure its integrity and no longer allows unfettered access to the user or third party developer. Not working for Apple, I can’t be sure, but would assume that system extensions can no longer be installed.

The software is needed to set a password on the external drive and for firmware updates. The SSD is working fine even without the software but to me is useful for some sensitive information that I need to protect. It is just strange that the latest version of the software is incompatible with macOS since the previous one was working correctly, and I wanted to understand if someone else was experiencing the same problem.

Booting into recovery just resulted in the same frustration.

Even tried using Samsungs Magician software ( only runs on Windows 10 ? ) by connecting to a PC. Says it's an unsupported device. Found another PC based software for erasing SSD's, but that only works on Windows 7.

Baffled now?

Disk Utility tried and failed?
