Solved.

Latest version of SamsungPortable SSD app is incompatible with current version of Mojave.

After short conversation with Samsung Tech Support they sent over instructions on how to completely remove the app and an older version of the app.

Uninstall the drive software and use the built in Mac utilities to manage the drive.

Boot into recovery and try to erase the external from there. After you erase it and format it, you should be able to partition it.

As I said, just contact Samsung Tech Support.

Use the live chat under the support tab on their website.

Eventually they will connect you with a real support person who will send you a version that works, plus instructions

Just go to Samsung website and click on Support. After a short conversation they will email it to you with instructions on how to uninstall version you have

I did a search for. T5 problem and only the one I linked to came up. So, others do not have a problem. The software included in all external drives is unnecessary. Your requirements can easily be met with native apps/processes.

If you wish to use the software provided by Samsung then you are going to have to discuss the problems you are having running it with Samsung.

Personally, I agree with the other replies which are suggesting you get rid of it.

Hi, I have the same problem. All that mounts on my desktop is the T5 Setup Partition. This is also all that appears in Disk Utility ( see grab attached ) If I try to erase this partition it fails and give message in grab 2. Samsung seem to have an app for re setting to factory defaults but is Windows only. Any ideas?

Hello please could you upload the 1.6.2 version of the software ? I actually removed the latest version of my mac but i'm struggling with finding the older version on the net

no one is going to upload any software for you here as it would violate the rules.

Where did you find the 1.6.2 version of the software though? I've done what you attached, but now I can only install the 1.6.4

This is just an observation. It looks like Samsung sent it to him as an email attachment.
