How to make safari open tab from context menu on background

In Mac OS Safari, when we select a word, open the context menu and run 'Search with google', the result comes in a new tab and it becomes the active tab automatically. Is there someway for that tab to open in background ?

The option in tab preferences doesn't apply to tabs opened by context menu.

It is easy to fix this, open safari preferences In the general tab change the "New tabs open with:" from Homepage to "Empty Page" Do the same for the "New windows open with:" if that is your desire. Auto select search bar Hi. Whenever I open a new tab, it automatically selects the search bar for me and I can start typing without having to drag my mouse up there to click on the search bar. Today when I opened up Safari, it didn't do the thing. Is there a way to change it back?

Unwanted tab bar Is there a way to keep Safari from showing the tab bar? In Preferences:Tabs, I have "Open pages in tabs instead of windows:" set to Never. But the latest Safari keeps popping up a tab bar, which I have no use for! Thanks, Craig MacKenna

Press and hold the command key as you click Search with Google and the new tab is not made active. You stay on the same web page as your selection.
