Screenshots not working on MacBook Pro

I am doing a lot of screenshots creating Standard Operating Procedures for my business and a few days ago, the shortcurts for screenshots stopped working. When I click on 'Shift+Command+4' it tabs to another window in Chrome. In Excel, it does nothing.


I have:

1) Rebooted the laptop several times.

2) I have checked the shortcuts are ticked in 'Keyboards' section of System Preferences

3) I have cleared NVRAM by holding down Option, Command, P+R.


Still not working. Any ideas?

Try Refreshing Your Finder:

  1. Click: The Apple Icon (top left-hand corner of the screen)
  2. Click: Force Quit...
  3. Click: Finder (bottom of the list)
  4. Click: Relaunch button (bottom-right of the window)


Try an External Keyboard (Apple Brand):

1.    Shut Down the Mac

2.    Plug in the Keyboard

3.    Boot the Mac

4.    Log In

5.    Take a Screenshot Once More
