Hotmail account on iPad vs. iPhone

While trying to figure out another issue I noticed that my Hotmail account on my iPad shows that I have enabled both Mail and Notes (but not Contacts, Calendars, or Reminders). However, on my iPhone my Hotmail account shows just Mail enabled. Since I don't want to use Notes with the Hotmail account I tried to turn them off by sliding the switch to the left. I get the following message...

"Turn Off Notes - Are you sure you want to continue?

All Hotmail notes will be removed from your iPad."

Cancel Delete".

I tap Delete button, but almost immediately, the switch slides back to the right and turns green again. This has now repeated 5 or 6 times. I rebooted the iPad. I checked in Notes, and there is no Hotmail account to select instead of my iCloud Notes account.

I tried deleting the Hotmail account (several times) and then adding that account again, but the switch for Notes always turns itself back on. This is very odd that I cannot remove Notes for Hotmail on my iPad, but can remove (or never added) Notes for the same account on my iPhone.

This may not be relevant information, but I set the Hotmail account up by selecting the "Outlook.com" account type instead of setting up as an "Exchange" account type. That is the other issue I'm trying to understand.

Thanks,

Eric
