How do I disable HotSpot on my child’s device?

Our children have cleverly discovered (some time ago) that they can connect devices to hotspot when we turn off the house Wifi. Our family is currently using screentime and can restrict their phones and our iPad, but they can still enable a hotspot and connect the PS4 and an old laptop to get unbridled internet access. There has got to be a way to disable this function!

Assuming the laptop is a Mac, you must be sharing an Apple ID with them. This is a Continuity feature.

You can disable it by turning off Bluetooth on your device. Or get them their own Apple IDs.

If it is your regular Hotspot, create a more secure password.
