Forgot password for Airport Extreme

I don't know the password (if there ever was one) for my Airport Extreme 802.11ac, and it's blinking amber. I've downloaded Airport Utility but can't open it because I don't know/have the password.

AirPort Utility is part of the operating system on a Mac, so if you are using a Mac, you should not have had to download AirPort Utility. Can you clarify on that please?

Or, are you using AirPort Utility on a PC or an iPhone / iPad?

Actually, based on your reply, I found the Airport Extreme utility in my Mac Air's Applications, and was able to update the firmware and now the light is green and WiFi is connected (it scared me for a few minutes because it took so long, and there was an error message, but all seems to be OK - I will keep my phone appointment just to have help in checking that it's updated and properly reconnected.) Thanks, Bob!
