Airport Express reset password

I have lost the password for my remote Airport Express Version 6.3.9. I want to use it as an extender from my base station Apple Modem

How do I reset the password?

Since you plan on using this base station as an extender, I suggest that you first perform a "factory default" reset on it, and then, use the AirPort Utility to configure for your networking requirements.

I did the full factory reset and plugged back in and named the modem "WiFi network name Extended" and used same Password as the private network. But it hasn't stopped blinking orange. Should I reset again?
