WhatsApp Chat Backup on iCloud - "Never"

When I go into Whatsapp -> Setting -> Chats -> Chat Backup, I see last backup to be "Never".

I do remember I backup it up on icloud every 2-3 days.

iPhone XS Max, iOS 13

WhatsApp is not part of an iOS backup. WhatsApp makes its own app-specific backup in iCloud. You need to enable chat Backup in WhatsApp settings to backup WhatsApp.

If you tap "backup now" does it complete a backup? If not, you should contact WhatsApp support about it, as their backup system is app-specific.

It turns out the problem was with WhatsApp servers.

Once they fixed the issue - iWas able to back up.

That Chat backup setting has always been enabled for me. It’s only since last evening that I’ve started facing this issue.
