Underlining in preview

Hello everyone!

I have a MacBook Air 13inch from 2017 and yesterday I updated the system to Mojave 10.14.5.

Since then, when I try to underline in the Preview app, it only allows me to underline two lines in a row - as seen in the print screen. I select one line but it automatically selects two. Also, when I try to underline in red, it looks like it's striking, instead of underlining.

Does anyone know why this is happening? How can I fix it?

Sorry for any mistakes, English isn't my first language.

Boot into Safe Mode and try underlinning from there. Reboot normally and try again.

NOTE: Safe Mode boot can take up to 10 minutes as it's doing some system cache cleaning, volume verifying and directory repairing.

Preview on macOS 10.14.5 allows me to strikethrough, or underline as many lines as I select in a PDF, which in my test was an entire paragraph of six lines. Review your procedure.

You don't understand. The images above show what happened when I tried to UNDERLINE in red - it appears as if it's striking but that wasn't what I did.
