Battery causing the turn off & on?

Hello,

Im having this issue with my laptop bought it around September 2015 Retina 15inch MBPro.

Issues:

1) Im having a battery with an X over it

2) Battery is not known within the system

3)Turning on & off by itself.

1) So Yes, Im having this symbol on my mac that shows a battery with a X over it however it does not show when I log in, its hidden even when I try to tick it, it automatically refuse to show it. My laptop does not turn on without its charger connected to it.

2) The battery is not known to the system; as in

Charge Information:

  Charge Remaining (mAh): 0

  Fully Charged: No

  Charging: No

  Full Charge Capacity (mAh): 0

  Health Information:

  Cycle Count: 0

  Battery Installed: No

  Amperage (mA): 0

  Voltage (mV): 0

That actually shows on my System Information.

3) The laptop decides to turns itself off and then turn back on, I dont think its overheating because when Im not doing anything Im constant around 39-42C and If i tried a game its around 50-65. The laptop turns itself off whether in game or not in game. However when Im not in game and doesnt turn of itself quickly as it does in game, In game it would take atleast 5-10min before turning it off. When it turns off and turn on and log in. Then comes a 2nd turn off again then turn on again. I had this several times.

So my questions is how can this be happening? can this on and off because of a battery? Because I dont believe its overheating. I tried everything the resetting and everything it didnt work.

Does anyone else have some ideas they like to share?

Thank you

Regards

Wab

If there is (for all intents and purposes) no battery, then a small bump that accidentally disconnects the magsafe power adapter will make your mac switch off.

In addition to having your mac looked, I suggest you run Etrecheck and post its report here.

Something significant may pop up in the report.

For more detailed results you may want to grant Etrecheck "full disk access".
