How to search for audio and video files in Photos

I have downloaded a number of audio and video files (received through Whatsapp etc) into Photos but now they are sort of lost in my clutter of over 14,000 items. How can I search for these audio or video files and then transfer these to my iTunes or Music database?

In Photos you can search for videos with a smart album:

File > New Smart album: Set the rule to "Photos is video" (or Photo is movie, depending on your primary system language)
To search vor audio files, create a smart album based on the filename extension, for example "Filename includes m4a", or whatever the filename extension of your audio files are.
There is also a predefines smart albums in the "Albums > Media types" section of the sidebar, called "Videos" or "Movies".

It is not a good idea to save audio files to Photos. They will usually not sync with iCloud Photos Library and can cause the iCloud upload to hang.

In the Photos app, tap on Albums on the bottom icons. Then look for the WhatsApp album under My Albums.
