calling two numbers

Dear Apple,

I have an iPhone SE.

Recently When I call to a contact, my iphone calls to two numbers. One number is the number that I selected to call and the second number is random and it may be another contact or totally different number.

In my Recent calls it shows a row for each call and if I touch i icon it shows the two numbers.

Call forwarding is not activated on my carrier.

my iOS version 12.3.1

Please help me.

Thank you.

Hi there Fahimeh_Sadeghian,

Thanks for using the Apple Support Communities. I understand your iPhone is calling two numbers when reaching out to a contact. That definitely could cause some confusion and I’ll be happy to help with this.

To verify, does this only happen with contacts you have a contact card for? If so, delete one of your contacts, restart your iPhone, and create a new contact card for them. Try calling them from your new card and see if this has any impact on the issue.

Manage and delete contacts on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

Restart your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

If that doesn’t help, you may want to reach out to your carrier and let them know what is going on. Also, let me know how long this has been happening and if it started after an update or a change to your service or something like that.

Best wishes.

Dear barberlives123,

Thanks for your reply.

I tried to delete a contact and restarted and called from phone keypad but the issue remains.

Every time I call a number in the recent calls it shows two numbers for a call.

When somebody calls me, in the recent calls when I touch i, it shows two persons (it narrates for example MY HOME & 2 OTHERS are calling).

I do not remember if it is after an update but it is happening from 4 weeks ago.

It really bothers me, please help me.

Thanks

Thanks for taking those steps and providing that info.

This could be related to something in your contact settings. Go to Settings > Passwords & Accounts on your iPhone and see how many accounts are syncing contacts. Turn off the contacts for each account and restart your iPhone. Make a call once the restart is complete and see if the issue returns. If it doesn’t turn on one of the accounts contacts in Settings > Passwords & Accounts and see if the issue returns.

If you continue to have issues after taking these steps, you may want to reach out to Apple Support using the following link to continue to look into this with you:
