Keep your messages in iCloud

iCloud now keeps your entire message history updated and available on all your devices — even when you set up a brand-new device.

Messages in iCloud are updated automatically, so you have the same messages everywhere you use iMessage. When you delete a message, photo, or conversation on one device, it’s removed from all of your devices. And since all of your attachments are stored in iCloud, you can save space on your device.

Note : in your screen shot , most of the space is occupied by Backups , documents and , mails see these https://support.apple.com/kb/ph12792?locale=en_US

Also if you had signed in with same Apple ID and password in iphone and a Mac the data is shared and will be on iCloud and iCloud Drive , in your Mac click on finder > iCloud Drive > Documents , select the documents right click on them and move to trash , restart the Mac and empty the trash see this article also https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT206985#turnon
