Any one any idea as to why my apps ie fb/insta/Twitter/LinkedIn won’t refresh when I’m not connected to Wi-fi? everything is set to refresh and use mobile data and it’s only just started doing it in the last 2 weeks, even WhatsApp won’t open any pho

Earlier this week Facebook and its subsidiary apps, such as WhatsApp were having numerous difficulties. This may be leftover from the problems that were occurring then. Maybe try signing out of the apps and signing back in again.
Thanks for this Chris but I’ve tried this several times and I’m pretty sure if it was the problem these social media’s had been experiencing it would be when I’m on Wi-fi aswell as mobile data that’s what I can’t understand. Also twitter wasn’t having the problem and this is also been affected?
If this is only happening on cellular, then the only thing you can check is your cellular data settings. Are you able to use cellular data for other internet access, such as Safari going to a website? If so, then to my knowledge the only other setting there would be for app data updates (you were referring to data updates, and not an update of the actual app, correct) would be Background App Refresh, located in Settings>General. You can try force restarting the phone, and if that does not help, you can try a restore from backup.
