My MacBook Pro (Retina, 15 inch, Late 2013, 2.6 GHz Intel Core i7, NVIDIA GeoForceGT 750M 2GB) has Motion 5.3.1 and software update says that no further updates are available. Why isn't Motion 5.4.3 available? What are the System requirements?
You need to update macOS.
I am guessing that you may still be running Sierra (or maybe El Capitan?).
The current version requires at least High Sierra (10.13.6) or Mojave.

I had this situation before too - I think ( I could be wrong) that you just need to uninstall Motion and then reinstall from the app store- which will put the latest version in for you. Be sure to back up all your favorites/shapes & brushes libraries first.
@Luis Sequeira does this sound about right if he already has Mohave?
Yes, that sounds right.
It is not actually necessary to delete Motion.
Putting it in the trash should be sufficient.
Then by going to the App Store and logging in with the proper Apple ID, one should be able to download Motion, which will be the current version.
