new phone problems

we got a new phones and switched from an iphone 6s plus, to an XR. we logged in and everything and went through you guys whole process and whenever someone texts me, the call or text is received on the old phone as well. and my contact on the other persons phone is my email, so they aren’t texting my phone number. please help asap. we are going on vacation tomorrow and can’t come into any stores
