Dailymotion not working on Apple TV 3. generation. Been working fine up till now so new problem. says: "Dailymotion is unavailable. Tray again later" when I use the app. All other apps are working fine. Can anyone tell me why?

The 3rd gen doesn't run apps, just preset content sent via server. Providers have slowly been starting to drop support for those server versions so best to consult with someone at Dailymotion to verify.

No one is forcing anyone you to buy a new device, however technology evolves and there will be certain features that aren't available on older hardware and support is not indefinite.

The 3rd gen is now over 7 years old and it is up to the providers whether they choose to keep resources going in order to sustain the server version on that hardware, a lot are instead deciding to focus on the apps that run on the current models.

The issue the OP was facing was that it wasn’t working on his 3rd gen Apple TV, and that is because it is no longer supported. A 4th gen would be required in order to run any app and a lot of providers have been dropping support for those older server versions.

The issue you are experiencing is completely separate, and due to the fact that there is a glitch within the app. It also isn’t isolated to the Apple TV.

Perhaps instead of getting so defensive you should refer to the thread above. I would also advise you to look at the terms of use for this forum, before making such posts.

This wouldn’t be related to the issue the OP was facing. You will need to contact the developer to make sure they are aware, they would need to investigate and issue an update if necessary.

I have the same problem with DM on my Apple TV. So what did they tell you? I hope there is a simple solution!

Totally agree about redundancy... I've built quite a heap of extinct macs, laptops, pads, pods, etc.

Guess I'll add the ATV to the pile.

It is related, the OP was gonna but a new Apple TV to use dailymotion only to find out it still doesn’t work.

Moderators edited your post, which you can clearly see, because there was a portion that violated the terms. It seems you conveniently bypassed the complete contents of my response, including looking back at those terms (which you agreed to upon setup) and chose to once again project your atrocious attitude.

I suggest you find something better to do with your time, perhaps actually contacting the developer as originally suggested.

Doesn’t work on any of my ATV 4G or 5G(4K). They must have slacked on an update sometime in the last month. Their iPad app crashes too. So not sure what the deal is here.
