hi everyone, I'm trying to format an old MacBook Pro's ssd and I get this error message does any one know how to solve this? I've also tried to full format it on linux but it doesn't solved anything.

It could be the enclosure itself, the controller, or the cable—if you tried a different cable, a different enclosure—than yes there is nothing you can do.
All drives fail in due time.
Additionally, it also helps to erase and format Mac OS extended (journaled) , the OS installer will automatically convert it to APFS if necessary.
If you can not initialize/format a drive it has failed.
I've read a couple of posts suggesting that you should be booted into recovery when trying to do anything with an APFS formatted drive - are you? And which Mac OS are you on?
