Probably lurking in your Safari Cache.

  1. Quit Safari.
  2. Press and hold the shift key while launching Safari. Nothing will load.
  3. Safari : Clear History… all history : Clear History.
  4. Safari Preferences : Advanced tab : [√] Show Develop menu in menu bar
    1. Press option+command+e to clear your browser cache
  5. Quit Safari

I recommend that you download and run the free Malwarebytes for Mac as a precaution that you may have ad/malware attempting to control your Safari session. You may or may not receive a quarantine dialog and option to remove found ad/malware. Then relaunch Safari normally.

f the problem remains, systematically deactivate your Safari extensions in Safari Preferences : Extensions tab, until the issue is gone.
