Using Google maps on Safari

When I used Google Maps through Safari I used to scroll up and down with 2 fingers in order to zoom in and out. However, for some reason, which I can't find, this doesn't work anymore. How can I reset it from the settings?

Maps Are Not Loading Properly After Safari Update! My Safari is version 16.0 (17614.1.25.9.10, 17614). Recently updated. Ever since this update, maps inside the Safari browser fail to load correctly! They are stretched out. This happens with the 'On The Go Map' website (my preferred choice for mapping runs and walks). This also happens on the 'Google Maps' website. It does not happen with the 'Map My Run' website, do not like this website. I have been exploring many websites that offer mapping services, and many of them will not render maps correctly. My question is... will there be a patch for the Safari browser to remedy this annoying problem?

Any way to prevent Maps from zooming in when you type in an address? When I'm using the Maps app on my Mac, I am usually wanting to see the location relative to the other landmarks. Someone at Apple thought it would be a good idea to zoom in on the location that you've typed in (which makes you lose sight of all the landmarks.) I find this really frustrating. Does anyone have an idea of how to override this automatic zooming behavior, i.e. so that when you type in an address and hit enter, the location shows up on the map, but without zooming in on it? I had hoped there would be a preference for this, but if there is, I'm not finding it.

Hi Christof_,

To help with troubleshooting, could you please change the user agent in Safari to something other than Safari, and see if that helps? https://osxdaily.com/2013/01/16/change-user-agent-chrome-safari-firefox/
