Verification failed iPod touch

I understand that you received your boyfriends iPod and wanted to set it up with a new Apple ID, but you're seeing a Verification Failed error when you try to sign in. Using these steps ensures that your boyfriend's Apple ID and any data associated with it is removed from the iPod before you sign in with your new ID.

If you've already completed those steps, or you continue to have trouble signing in, I'd recommend using the steps below:

• If you've set up the iPod to where you can access Settings, tap Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings. This will remove any previously associated Wi-Fi networks and passwords, so you'll need to connect to them again.
• After the reset, connect to Wi-Fi and try again to sign in with your Apple ID in Settings.

• If you're still in the set-up process for the iPod, try selecting to sign in with your Apple ID later and complete the set-up. Once you've completed the set-up, use the steps above to Reset Network Settings and try to log in with your ID again.
