why does my file download as MOV

Okay so I want a video off of iCloud and onto my computer (which is a windows). When i select it and press download in the top right hand corner on iCloud.com it downloads as MP4 and plays as expected (i.e. the same as it plays on my iPhone-which is in slow motion due to the fact that the video was shot on a GoPro at a high frame rate). However when I try to download it from iCloud to my computer along with other videos, some of which are MP4 others are MOV, they download as a compressed folder, and are all MOV. Even the ones that are MP4 when downloaded on their own. The problem with this is that it appears they have now lost their slow motion effect-they just play at normal speed. So it appears if you download 1 item at a time it will stay as its original format, but when you download multiple videos it will convert them all to MOV, and you will lost any effect.

So does anyone know a way around this, a way in which I can download multiple photos/videos and have them play on my computer the same as they play on my phone. I have also tried using the windows iCloud photos app and simply pressing "Download photos and videos" however this has the same problem-they all download as MOV.
