iCloud Video downloads are corrupted

I have a ton of photos and videos in the iCloud and want to download them to my Mac to free up space.

I can download photos without a problem but every video I've tried to download ends up corrupted

These videos can be played from the iCloud without a problem. Some of them are as short as 8 seconds.

They were all recorded on my iPhone.

When downloaded (as MOV files), I can't open them with QuickTime or iMovie.

When downloaded in bulk (as a zip file), I can't even open the zip file.

I tried downloading again, same result.

How can I get these videos?

Alright, so after a lot of unsuccessful tries, suddenly, everything works.

I don't know what fixed it. I was trying this for hours with no luck.

It was significantly slower before so maybe my Mac was trying to do too many things at the same time and it just botched up the downloads? I don't know.
