Lightning to VGA Adapter

Hallo!

I bought a Lightning to VGA adapter to screen iTunes

rented movies via my VGA Projector on a bigger screen. I connect my iPad with

the Lightning to VGA adapter, using a VGA cable, to my VGA projector. I

have downloaded the movie in Standard and not HD. I connect my iPad to my Home

Theater system to get the sound via the speakers. The sound is beautiful, but

there is no projection on the bigger screen. I have also changed the settings

on the TV app (Apple

TV) to SD.

NB: I can screen the trailer of the movie through the VGA

adapter via my projector on the bigger screen (beautiful!). However, as soon as

I start the movie, there is sound but no image on the bigger screen.

What am I doing wrong?

Regards

Hello,

This is an unfortunate result of the movie industry’s copy protection. In order for Apple to offer movies and tv shows for sale on the iTunes Store Apple had to implement a copy protection system that unfortunately restricts copy protected movies from being played through a VGA connection.

That being said the way you can get around this is to return the VGA adapter and purchase the Apple Lightning to HDMI adapter. If your connected display has a HDMI connection then you are all set. If not then you need to purchase a HDMI to VGA converter box.

The way this works is the iPad allows copy protected movies to play though the HDMI connection and from there the video signal can be converted to VGA without activating the copy protection system.

I hope this helps!
