I. have a iMac 10.14.5. I have a lot of photos that I've backed up. I plugged in the Super Drive. When I try to put in the cd, it kicks it out. I also recently bought Adobe Photoshop Elements 2019 and when I tried to download it, the same thing happened. It kicked it out without downloading it. What is wrong?

Is it an Apple Superdrive? Have you tried a DVD? If it doesn't accept any CDs or DVDs, I'd guess that it is a hardware problem - take it to your nearest Apple store or authorized repair service to have it checked.
FWIW, either the drive has failed, it is dirty, it is upside down, or the disks are inserted upside down. Optical drives automatically eject disks if they can't read them.
