Play pause button not working when minimized

When I'm in the music app on my phone if I Minimize the song I am currently listening to, to view the rest of my music, at the bottom of the screen is the “now playing” music tile. On that tile there is a pause button or a forward button. The pause button doesn’t always respond when I touch it. I have to maximize the now playing screen/tile and pause from there. Is anybody else having this issue?

I've not witnessed that behavior. I have a very long playlist that I use at night when I go to bed. I have a timer that I set for 30 minutes, and when it goes off, it stops the music. So, the next night when I go to bed, I just tap on the play button to get it started back up, then set the timer again. Everything works just fine for me. What troubleshooting have you tried? You can force restart the Music app, then force restart the phone. See if that corrects your issue.

You can try creating a current backup and then restore the phone to that backup. Seems the only problem you are presented with is the fact the pause button does not always work. Am I correct? The buttons you see are correct. It will either be a play or pause, and then a fast forward. You will not see other buttons unless you maximize the Now Playing screen.
