Given the Incorrect Model MacBook Pro 13"?

I purchased my MacBook back in January of this year (2019). Upon setting up a support request to have some things fixed recently (July, 2019), I noticed that my "About This Mac" information showed that it is the 2017 model. Curious as to why I had received such a late model, I opened a chat session which led to an Apple Support call. I spoke with one of the managers, who informed me that I had most likely received this MacBook in error, as this model should not have been distributed after September of 2018. He then informed me to head to the store where I originally purchased the device, explain the situation to them and see what they could do for me. In store, the experience was far from what I expect in a situation like this. Not only was I told that a "manager is not available," but the person who took notes on my case never confirmed that he was the manager and did not give me his name. He was defensive, and asked me questions like "What do you hope to gain?" and "Why is it so important to you?" Well John Doe, I ordered, paid for, and expected a 2018 MacBook and I was given a 2017. How'd you like to sign off on a 2018 model car and receive a 2017 model? He told me he would "look into it" and contact me by the end of the day. As expected, I have not heard from him.

Has anyone had a similar experience or know when exactly the 2018 models released in stores? Out of the 3 Apple "specialists" I spoke with I received 3 different answers, all falling BEFORE my purchase date. I don't really know what to do at this point except wait and keep contacting them.

MacBook Pro 13", macOS 10.14
