Antivirus/Malware protection
Do I need to purchase an antivirus / Malware protection plan for my new MacBook Pro & iPhone? If so, which one? Also, would a plan cover both my MacBook & iPhone?
Thank you.

Your Mac is already very well protected from spontaneous malware attack. Third-party so called Virus scanner are mostly scare-ware, intended to lighten the wallets of timid uninformed novice users.
MacOS uses a bottleneck protection scheme to protect arbitrary software from becoming executable software. MacOS double-locks all system directories, and by default only allows installation of Identified software (which is issued with a valid Mac Developer Certificate).
In the installation Dialog, you are also shown the web site that sourced the software. DO NOT IGNORE where it came from. Valid version of Flash player (by far the most common vector of malware) come from sites based on get.adobe.com/flashplayer, and not from malware.factory.es
Readers here do not recommend installing anything that constantly scan your files, looking for things. They are a waste of money and a HUGE waste of resources. Many of them are frighteningly incompetent at what steps they take to protect you. They often leave your Mac MORE vulnerable to attacks.
Don't buy any such packages.

The iPhone is a closed environment. Since you can not install arbitrary software, (only software that has been examined for Viruses and other defects) it is not vulnerable to attack.
Third-party so called Virus scanners for the iPhone are a blatant HOAX.
