app offload is stuck

Hi. My son was having problems with his beloved Minecraft PE refusing to load and so we tried the offload app functionality as a potential solution. Unfortunately it looks like the offload somehow got “stuck” - the app icon has turned white with grey lines and has the little cloud download icon next to it. It won’t download or open from the App Store. But, when I go into manage storage it still has the option to offload it, but when I tap on that nothing happens. Any thoughts? My son is devastated that he may have lost his worlds. Thanks!

Yes.

I don't know how the app might work. Will have to hope the app saves the data in the cloud. Should you have a backup, the game will revert to the level of advancement in the backup. In my early days the system crashed and I lost my edits, since then my motto has been "save early save often". In my early day of mac usage, the harddrive failed. I took it in to see if the data could be recovered, but no success. Since then, I back up my data in multiple places. I have a copy of my data in a safe deposit box. It's not too current.

You might try https://macroplant.com/iexplorer

and see if you can fish out the data. Then you will have to figure out how to put it back.

You could backup the ipad. Do it to a different account. I haven't figured out how to have multiple backups on the same id of the same iDevice. Use iExplorer to look at the ipad data.

moral of the story, back up to the cloud. backup to a computer.
