$99 in the US for an authorized battery service. However, it's done as a complete replacement where you would need to back up your device and restore the backup to the replacement. If there's any substantial damage to your iPad then they will probably only do it as an out of warranty screen damage replacement price ($379 in the US).

Also - they'll want to know that it actually works before charging you for the battery service price. They want to take them in and refurbish them to provide as a replacement for a future customer bringing in an iPad.

Apple does not actually replace batteries nor repair devices in store. They do it only as a complete swap where the device may go to a central repair facility to be repaired/refurbished.

Very helpful and yes ive tried the hard reset. My ipad is pretty much flawless and just died then wouldnt power on no matter how many seconds i wait or times i tried to start. So im out of warranty obviously but they will do a replacement for 99$? So imnot sure how to go about backing it up but after thats done i just send it in and wait? Also it worked perfectly before this.

You could have previously backed it up to iCloud, but without a working screen that's pretty difficult to do for the first time. Also if you haven't backed it up to a computer running iTunes, it's going to be pretty difficult to do that too. You would need a working iPad display to "trust" the computer before it will connect to iTunes. Once it's "trusted" it should be able to back up where one can use the backup to restore to a new iOS device.

There's really no way of knowing if your issue is just the battery or if it's more severe like a power circuit issue. In any case, I just wanted to make it clear that Apple won't actually repair an iPad to return to the same customer. They've never done that with iPads.

Youve been a huge help and thank u...kinda sad tho that i had to get detailed answerz from a network of customerz rather than PAID employees of the company . i cant deny, nothing beats ios efficiency and muscle but its almost like they use that to our disadvantage...so do u think i could take it to an apple store to find out the ifs or if nots as far as it being backed up, and if not im assuming it isnt worth the trouble to pursue it any further?

What exactly do you need? Do you absolutely need the data or would you be happy with a working replacement?

Honestly they would tell you all this if you went in person to an Apple Store. Well - at least they would tell you that you wouldn't have access to your data if you didn't back it up and you opt to get a replacement device.
