Wifi keeps on disconnecting when I connect my Buffalo external HD - macOS Mojave Version 10.14.5

Hi,

I just bought the MacBook Air (Retina, 13-inch, 2018) on the Apple.com and whenever I connect my Buffalo Hard Drive to the type C slot my Wifi suddenly drops. At first I thought it was just my internet. When I tried to restart everything (Wifi) and the PRAM. My wifi works again. Today I used my external HD and it happened again. Then I realized my External HD is causing the dropping of wifi. I tried to connect my printer it did not drop.

I used a USB to Type C Adapter.

macOS Mojave Version 10.14.5

MacBook Air (Retina, 13-inch, 2018)

16 GB 2133 MHz LPDDR3

1.6 GHz Intel Core i5

Please help

What is the model of your hard drive? What is the model of your Buffalo external HD? While researching this, check for compatibly specs, and see if that is an issue.

If it is compatible:

You might need to download the drivers
If the drivers are installed, try updating them
Use a USB C Hub with external power capabilities. That should do it.

Some poorly shielded cheap USB-C to USB-A adapters are reported to cause Wi-Fi disconnects.
