I bought an iPad around 6 years ago from another person. She removed it from her account and I signed into it with my Apple ID. I used my iPad as recently as July 14.
Today when I turn it on, it is asking me to enter the activation lock details and my Apple ID details are not being accepted. I get the message "This device cannot be unlocked using this Apple ID".
It is expecting me to provide it the original owner's Apple ID/Password.
What do i do now?

can be attributed to the service center, where they will try to restore it, if not
otherwise you have to buy a new one.
Thanks for your response. What i cant wrap my mind around is how is that i've used it for so many years, signed into iCloud from that iPad and used my Apple ID to make purchases and update apps.
And when i log into my Apple Account from a web browser through a computer, i see that iPad listed in my account.
You are welcome. I understand why it doesn't make sense, but if it is asking for the original owner's Apple ID and password, and showing an Activation Lock, I don't know of anything that can get past that.
Unless you can contact the original owner, the iPad is useless. If you are seeing that error message, she never properly removed it from her account.
