iCloud syncing?

So a little complicated. I have an iphone XS, a personal macbook pro laptop, and a mac computer on my desk at work. Last night I was adding stuff to my icloud on my personal laptop and this morning it was also on my work computer. I want to stay logged into my apple ID on my work computer because I still want my text messages to come up on my screen.. but I don't want my personal stuff downloading onto my work computer. Not that its anything bad but its just more stuff to have to work around. And I can't delete it off of the work computer or it will delete on my personal computer.

So I guess my question is.. is there still a way for me to get my texts and stuff on my work computer without my icloud drive being uploaded to it?
